Today we went to a fun, "secret" hike on the Maunawili ditch/demonstration trail. A cool tunnel thats pretty long and I finally got to finish off the whole Maunawili demonstration trail! I did half of it, but couldn't do the whole thing because my car was parked at the Pali!
If you do plan on doing this, don't go when its raining. That tunnel isnt very high and the gate is locked

You went through Maunawili ditch and tunnel to the back of Waimanalo valley. The water is taken from the Maunawili watershed to supply water to the farmers in Waimanalo. Otherwise it would flow downhill to Kawainui Marsh. I'm pretty sure the tunnel is not open to the public.

Awesome I did this one for the second time last Sunday doing a huge loop. You're brave to park your car on the Waimanalo side.

Scary, being in that tunnel not knowing what the weather will turn out especially having to bend down and crawl out.. Been having flash floods for couple days now.

Wow, that's a long tunnel!   Did you know before hand that there was an opening at the other end?
