Sarah Devoto, Ph.D. is a sociologist advocating for new understandings of (dis)ability, health, and well-being. She designs research (quantitative and qualitative) that explores wellness while living with chronic illness, illuminating the intersections of gender, race, and class.

She earned her Ph.D. from UCSB Sociology - a department that consistently ranks in the top 10 sociology programs in the U.S. - in order to make research her full-time career. In addition to nine years of academic research, she has professional experience with research and data management in non-profits and the government.
