This video shows the process of taking a midi track in Ableton live and exporting it into MuseScore, an open source musical notation software to have written out parts.

you can use CTRL + down/up to move the notation one octave up or one octave down.

awesome ! can you adjust the key so that it falls in line with the key of the intrument IE Bb Trumpet, Eb Alto Horn etc..?

What about a song that has mixed meter changes? 4/4 to 9/8 you can't consolidate different quantized parts

Reaper let’s you convert MIDI to a score with a button push, but they don’t have session view. This seems like basic daw functionality

Logic has this already built in.

Wow how convenient - you have to export midi to other program specially to see midi events as notes. Don't you see it's an absurd ? Albeton is quite grown up sophisticated program, and yet they didn't manage to add simple Score Editor ? I don't mean some dense, complicated stuff for classic composeers like Sibelius - I mean just a window like in old Cakewalk Express. How come ?? Also the same problem with Reason. Cubase on the other hand had always built in Score editor - but for me it's too complicated - entering notes is harder than in Cakewalk Express. I wonder why they - the producers of these programs don't see a need of good Score solution here ???
