When Overconfident Cocky Fighters Get Owned and Destroyed

The world of combat sports is filled with fighters who exhibit a high level of confidence, which can sometimes be to their disadvantage. Cocky fighters often make the mistake of running their mouths before a fight, only to be taught a humbling lesson in the ring. It's always satisfying to watch the moment when they are brought down a peg or two, and the following are some of the most memorable instances of this phenomenon.

Charles Bennett vs. Michael McDonalds - Bennett was a confident fighter, who was doing well in the early moments of his match against McDonalds. However, in just seconds, his confidence was shattered as he swung a punch towards McDonalds' jaw, only to end up with a broken hand. Bennett had no choice but to throw in the towel, and it was a lesson in humility.

Alex Hanan vs. Andrei Mikhailovich - Hanan took a cheap shot at Mikhailovich before the match started, which was a mistake he would regret. Mikhailovich reserved his response for later in the fight, serving a humbling left jab to Hanan's face. Although Hanan remained in the fight for longer than expected, he was unable to recover from the initial blow and eventually lost the match.

Douglas Lima vs. Michael Page - Page was known for trying to make a fool out of his opponents, but this fight with Lima was different. Despite his cockiness, Page found himself on the receiving end of a brutal knockout from Lima. The knockout not only ruined Page's undefeated record, but it also taught him a valuable lesson in humility.

Trinidad vs. Ricardo Mayorga - Mayorga acted indestructible in the ring, which was a mistake that Trinidad was happy to exploit. Trinidad took advantage of Mayorga's cockiness and delivered three knockouts in the fifth round, which was enough to win the fight. Mayorga tried to fight back in the sixth round, but he was too exhausted to continue and eventually lost the match.

Charles Latuperissa vs. Sultan Al Nuaimi - Latuperissa had some of the best dance skills, but he didn't know the difference between a dance battle and a boxing fight. Barely a minute into the first round, Latuperissa found himself completely dominated by Sultan, who delivered two powerful hooks that floor him. Latuperissa learned a lesson in humility, and the importance of knowing the difference between a dance battle and a boxing fight.

In conclusion, these instances serve as a reminder that confidence can only get you so far in the ring. It's important for fighters to remember that humility can sometimes be a better approach, especially when facing a formidable opponent. The spectacle of watching cocky fighters get owned is always entertaining, and it's a reminder of the lessons that can be learned from failure.

Where do these commentators come from? Hook, not jab. Three knockdowns, not knockouts. Left hook to his jaw, then left jab to his body, not left hook to his torso, then right hook to his jaw. Etc, etc, etc.

4:52 this guy doing the dance moves isn’t the same guy that you show two seconds later in the fight they were in different color trunks and they’re not even the same person. 😂

Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins (58--8--2) can't walk the walk? You have no business making these types of videos.

The dancer at 4:38 is someone else, in a different ring than the fighter after. And you say it is *Charles Latuperissa* vs. *Sultan Al Nuaimi* . TV says it is *Tughushi* vs. *Al-Bloushi* . Why?

MVP don’t bounce around the cage to showboat, that’s his actual fighting style, Stephen Thompson uses a similar style. MVP is a showboater but against Lima was the one time he didn’t showboat, he took it serious.

Saying Hopkins can’t walk the walk is insane

You got to give McNeely credit, though :

He's the only one who had zero fear against Mike and went straight at him.

Was it the smartest move? Hell no!

But that didn't make it any less brave of him.

So kudos to having balls of steel, Pete.

Hopkins said, “I will never let a whiteboy beat me!” I wonder what was going through his mind as he was flying out of the ring, probably not a whole lot.

Unsportsmanlike conduct (also called untrustworthy behaviour or ungentlemanly fraudulent or bad sportsmanship or poor sportsmanship or anti fair-play) is a foul or offense in many sports that violates the sport's generally accepted rules of sportsmanship and participant conduct. Examples include verbal abuse or taunting of an opponent or a game official, an excessive celebration following a significant play, or feigning injury. The official rules of many sports include a general provision whereby participants or an entire team may be penalized or otherwise sanctioned for unsportsmanlike conduct.

WTF? Venom Page's moves aren't street fighting or being cocky. He's using TKD steps and kicks

You wanna call fights in a "gets owned" kinda video, you learn what a jab is. Plain and simple.
