Cinematic Guitars Creative Sound Design

In this video I show the process that went into creating a short cue using Sample Logics Cinematic Guitars. I show how I achieve certain sounds using the great user interface and how easy it is to turn one sound into a completely different one.

Dan, your impersonation of the sound effects are hilarious! Especially the rhythm sections!!

If you already use/have a good load of vsti''s, then something like cinematic guitars is really inspiring and refreshing to use.

I assure you all the libraries I use are 100% legally obtained. I am in direct contact with many of the developers on a daily basis. Also keep in mind I compose music for a living so each of my libraries have already made back the money I spent on them over time.

Daniel, your videos have helped me understand an enormous amount about how the software I buy actually works. Unfortunately, after watching your videos I end up being somewhat lighter in the wallet. Anyway, great job. Would you consider doing a quick walkthrough of Cinematic Guitars 2 so we could all see the difference? They are both on sale at the moment at Sweetwater for 99 bucks. That is 1/4 the cost of the original but I am conflicted about which version to get.

I think Nucleus Sounds has a ReFill a bit like this? This cue sounds superb though!! Great work. Having just bought Komplete 7 a short while back, this is looking (and sounding) pretty damn attractive...

I know what are you talking about and YES you are right. But I believe that the CCs can be changed. You can have, for common functions, volume for example, have the CCs executed by the same key on a variety of VSTs. On the other hand, the less peculiar articulations will have to be handle accordingly, meaning you will have a set of CCs for each VST.

D'oh! Of course, I actually meant 8/7 as long. It's early...

Thanks for this video Dan, it was great! I'm considering buying this. One question: around 31:00 you say "When you change the number of steps, each note is shorter". I would expect this to happen with the Speed control, but if it happened with the Steps control, you could change from 8 steps to 7, for example, and hear notes that are 7/8 as long. I would prefer to have the same note length but in a cycle of 7 that repeats and syncopates - so I'm hoping you just got this wrong. Did you? :)

Personally I've tried a lot of DAWs and Ableton is easily my favourite.

Type 'MIDI CC List' into google...is this what you are talking about?

From all the Kontakt tutorials I've seen on YouTube I bet 99.9% have the plugins copied from somewhere! = P It's just impossible for a regular guy to buy each plugin worth $ 400 - $1500 lol Othewise every musician holding these vsts would be a bum with heavy, sexy musical equipment sticking out of their bum bags! lol

I love these B Grade 80s movie score sounds like Robocop, or hitech horror scores, so cheap sounding, yet so expensive to buy, how do people sign up to become a reviewer and get some legal free libraries is not what I am asking besides I do not like these B Grade 80s movie score sounds or hitech horror scenes, do you, love to love ya baby.
