Cruise lines are pushing back against a new Mexican cruise tax. Carnival is saying good bye to chapels. A new poll suggest that some people always remove their gratuities.

I have been to Cozumel so many times they should pay me $42 to go there now.

Having a dedicated "quiet space" is a good thing. Call it a library, chapel, whatever. I also like an area where people gather to play board games. Board games are perfect for cruising and I hope cruise lines lean into this growing trend.

Holland America’s libraries are amazing! I love how they have listened to passengers and instead of removing them improved them!

People are paying thousands for a cruise, hundreds for airfare, close to a grand per couple for the drink package, tgen specially dining, gratuities and excusions, but now a $42 tax is whats going to stop them from cruising to Mexico? I can see why the cruiselines are upset; they want to be the ones to get ALL of their passenger's money.

I always use the libraries on Holland. It’s usually one of our first stops. You can find a true variety! These were my classroom rules: ignore, walk away, use a kind voice, use a firm voice, get adult help. Works! I don’t remove tips though I wish cruise lines were more transparent about how and when they reach staff. We bring ones and fives to spread additional joy. 😮Happy holiday season, Tony.

Sorry to put this on here but Jason from Travel Scouts broke down the $42 fee & explained it's on top of 2 or 3 other fees ALREADY imposed on passengers. He said a family of 4 would be charged $200 if they got off the ship or not if this new fee is implemented 😮.
