Atlanta Police Department welcomes new recruits

The 20 new recruits did more than 900 hours of training.

I hope the vetting process was not side stepped just to hire these officers. We don't need more crooked cops in APD and they have some.The brotherhood of cops do not out way the oath to the citizens. To the new officers if you see something that doesn't look right or sounds funny. Listen to that instinct. You have a difficult job ahead of you and we thank you for serving this great city.

They just hire anybody long as you don't have no felonies

I am going to make a bet...in a year, 1/3 of these new officers will move to other departments making better money, using better equipment, and having MUCH better city leadership. IN 12 months 33% will be working in another jurisdiction.
