The point of this is.... he did what every dog owner should do before they bring a dog life in your life...look at the pros and cons.. this step is overlook and is a big percentage of why dogs end up in shelters..Pick the dog that is right for you!! Shout out on these vids..keep it up!!

Good choice. Love both breeds, I had a dogo that died last year of a snake bite. I live near the mountains and used my dog for hog hunting. Most loyal dog ever, if you ever find your self moving to a place with more spice, you should get a Dogo at some point. You will love the Dogo.

Dogo's are my favorite and I can't wait to get my own after researching for years. Respect on your choice though. A Rotty would be 2nd or 3rd choice for me but honestly they're both bad ass dog's you can't really go wrong in this decision.

Solid analysis. You made the best choice. I had a Doberman growing up, knew many Rottweilers, and now have a Dogo. I have been blown away by my Dogo's intelligence and affection, but also by his stubbornness. They can handle an urban environment as long as you train them and exercise them hard. Rottweilers are more owner-focused whereas Dogos, though extremely affectionate and protective, are always looking for adventure.

Video should be renamed "How I made the wrong decision" 😭😭😭😭.

I'm joking.

I love the dogo argentino I'm torn between a dogo argentino and a borboel as my next breed but I agree with you considering what you were looking for. The dogo has a high prey drive definitely great with kids but when there prey switch clicks on I feel sorry for the prey cause the dogo means business and is a true working breed dog that honestly should be worked to help channel his energy and drive from time to time.

I respect your deep thinking before you made your decision on which breed was best for you. I wish everyone would put more thought into getting a dog. I have had Dobermans and Pitbull type dogs all my life and a couple years ago I got myself a male Dogo puppy. He is now about 2 1/2 years old and is 29 inches and 130 pounds. I absolutely love this breed. He is very smart, protective yet gentle and easy to train. Physically he is a beast. He is incredibly strong while still being fast and agile. I have trained dozens of Rottweilers and many are great dogs. Locally we had problems with them biting the owners when they were not up to the task of controlling such a strong-willed powerful dog. I also agree with you about the size of a good Rottie. I think 120 pounds is perfect for a working Rottie. They are much faster and more athletic at that size than the giant 150-pound examples. Thanks for the video and keep them coming.

Zeke man, I do so appreciate you doing this one for the Dogo. I have a Dogo, GREAT DOG!! But I'm affard I made the wrong choice I did a great deal of research on them before I got one but what I did not equate or factor in was his level of energy. I'm a retired old dude and Lucky is like a 5 year old they mature very slowly 2 to 3 years he's 2 1/2 years his dad and Mon where hunters back in the great state of Georgia he's weighing in at between 117 and 126 I think his best weight is 117. My old lady LOVES ROTTWEILERS and has had two she's not satisfied with anything else. THANKS ZEKE and ALL THE BEST WITH THAT ROTTIE BEAST YALL GOT. ROSCOE THE KING!

Dogos are more rare and majestic
Out of all the mastiffs I would choose between Dogo or Boerboel.

As someone that has owned multiple of both breeds (3 Dogo’s and 2 Rottweilers), I don’t see myself ever getting another Rottweiler. That being said, there are some big advantages of each depending on what your use of the dog is. The Dogo is a dog of many extremes and are NOT for everyone. For almost all traits they are at the extreme end of the spectrum. Dogo Argentino’s are more intelligent, more obedient, have a higher desire to please and much, much more affectionate. If the dog is going to be alone all day while you’re at work the Rott is a better choice. Dogo’s want to be with you 24/7 and it makes them sad to be alone. They’re the most co-dependent breed I’ve encountered and they NEED to be a part of a pack. Do NOT get a dogo as an only dog and plan to crate them while you’re at work. If you’re a first time dog owner, the Rottweiler is probably a better choice because while the dogo is more intelligent and more obedient with correct training/owner, they are significantly more dominant/strong willed. Dogo’s are easier to train more commands and harder tasks because they’re more intelligent and have a higher desire to please but they’re less forgiving for inexperienced trainers. The dogo is commonly used in many countries for police work and search/rescue. I would give the Dogo 10/10 with small children but the Dogo is not a dog you take to the dog park. Theyre dominant and won’t back down if challenged. Intact males won’t accept another large intact male trying to be the boss. Females same with other females. Rottweilers are better suited for dog parks and more tolerant of other dogs challenging them. Both Rott and Dogo’s are protective of their pack and their family and make a distinction between their family/pack and strangers. Rottweilers and Dogo’s both do extremely well with strange people if properly socialized. The dogo is overall a more healthy breed. They live longer and have less problems while alive. Dogo’s are much more agile and suited to high energy lifestyle because they have a lot more endurance. The Rott is a better choice if you want lower energy. If you’re looking for just a working dog/guard dog that you don’t spend a ton of time with get a Rott (is actually recommend an Anatolian or Pyrenees for this use). If you’re looking for a guard dog/hunting dog that is with you 24/7 and also your best friend get a dogo. There is not another dog that is as versatile all around as the dogo with regards to hunting, protection, obedience, etc. but there not suited to many people’s lifestyle and experience. Now on my third dogo, I don’t think I’ll ever own another breed.

I wanted to mention a couple of weeks ago I saw a film on dogs bread to fight. As most know the Dogos blood line was derived from the fighting dog of Córdoba, fact is it was the first line to be mixed along with nine other breeds. Anyway I mentioned that because in this film I saw a Dogo Argentino literally throwing a mountain lion down the mountain by its neck. All I could say was "That Dogo Argentino is a Bad Motha, Shut your mouth! But I'm talkin bout Dogo! AND I CAN DIG IT!!

The only issue with Dogo Argentino is that there's a High chance they might be deaf. That happens with dogs who are all-white in colour.
