Actually I already tried running my PC outside in the snow and it really did make a huge difference. Now temperature of CPU, Motherboard and GPU did reach around 0 degrees but somehow the computer started lagging

Temple of the lemur ran an overclocked machine MANY years ago using a freezer and a lot of alcohol. Got and oldschool 486 running somewhere close to a 1000% overclock before finally frying it.

This reminds me of something from the 2b2t anarchy minecraft server. They were doing a duplication glitch and one of the guys litterally put his computer in the freezer to keep it cool.

As a refrigeration tech, I can tell you. Refrigeration is not what most people think it is. Instead of thinking that a refer system is “cooling down” product or in this case, your computer, think of the refrigeration process as the removal of heat.

Since your computer is a constant heat load, and a pretty significant constant heat load, the freezer will not be able to stop removing the heat from your computer since it continuously creates heat. This means that the compressor for the freezer would never shut off.

More technically speaking, the thermostat which controls what temp the space should be, will always be sensing higher heat temperature than the set point of said thermostat and will never shut down the compressor. You are absolutely right. Eventually that compressor will fail, but it would probably take a while. The cool thing about refrigeration is, the heat you remove has to go somewhere, and it does so by convection, utilizing the refrigerant of the closed loop system to absorb the heat at the evaporator from the product or material to be frozen, and expels it elsewhere at the condenser of the system.

The geniuses that stumbled across this technology are responsible for my getting paid. Something I’ve never messed around with is cooling systems in computers. That aspect of refrigerating is interesting. I know I’ve rambled on, but refrigeration is pretty rad 🤙 Can’t help but chime in...

If you’re going to do something like that have someone make you a custom refrigeration unit that cools liquid and then have the liquid cool your PC

I'd also say another factor is that the heat from the PC has nowhere to vent so it just warms up the inside of the freezer higher than it should be.
