Gabrielle Becomes Ana's Legal Guardian - Desperate Housewives 6x01 Scene

This is a strong contender for my favorite Gaby/Eva scene in the show, along with Gaby pulling Ana out of the club, right before this. I enjoyed seeing the dynamic play out between her and Ana, with Gaby really stepping up for Ana's sake, after being so reluctant to the idea of having her move in.

Gabby saw a lot of her younger self within Ana, that’s why Gabby changed her mind about signing the legal guardianship documents. It’s sweet how Gabby wanted to protect Ana, from making the same mistakes like she did when she was a teenager. It seems like Gabby’s father was the only person who loved her, before he passed away from cancer. After his death, Gabby’s mother neglected and chose to not believe her own daughter was being raped her stepfather. Gabby hated and held a grudge for how her own mother, did not protect her and Gabby did not want to make that same mistake with Ana.

Gaby indeed has a need to protect children/youth. She IS maternal.
