I really appreciate what you said about not going too fast. I feel like "The Acquisition Phase" ends, for most people, rather abruptly. For me, it happened when I sat down to clean and organize all of my pens, and I suddenly felt a little overwhelmed by my collection. Now, I'm on the lookout for just a few very particular things, and I like that. Thanks! I always enjoy your videos!

I got the bug when a friend gave me a Metropolitan and a journal. The feeling of the pen, the wayward smear of poussiere de lune. I then did something that was very brave and was gifted a Japanese grail pen and the nib danced. You are a joy to listen and learn from. Thank you.

Lots of good advice, David. Especially not going too fast...because most of us did that! I also do analog to-do lists. I also try to journal on a daily basis. I find actually writing out things clarifies my thoughts and feelings, and it recharges my vocabulary and power of expression. And journaling - even if it's only a paragraph or two - means you got to use one (or more) of your pens that day - and appreciate it.

Good for you, Figboot. I can't imagine the frustration receiving numerous e-mails daily to authenticate, and advise on own purchases, as your professional career is outside pen retailing. Perhaps a video on how you went about purchases on fountain pens, so that you can assist them, and not hold their hand in the process. I have viewed your content once in a while, and appreciate your insights. Have a nice day.

My favorite pens write in reverse (upside down). It's a great way to make quick edits when you use a wider nib that would require changing pens to squeeze some words between lines.
