Far Cry Primal - The 4 Best Beasts to Tame in Oros

The best is the snowblood wolf. This is because it can take damage and still go, also it only takes 1 meat to heal it. The snowblood wolf always does a kill animation wich 1 shots any animal except mammoths and others.

My favorite is Great Scar bear, since it's very useful for taking outposts and beating elite enemy's, but same for blood fang sabertooth since it's silent and useful for missions, not really for outposts.

My favorites are....

1. Sabertooth and Bloodfang Sabertooth - a lot of benefits, you can ride, use them to hunt the large animals such as tall elk, rhino, cave bear, juvenile mammoth. And the most important is they are so fast, have a lot of strength and can protect you from every predators in Oros. (Except honey badger, but we know honey badger not gonna attack us, if we don't bother them first.)

2. Black cave lion - good for hunts the yaks and brown bear.

3. Black jaguar - good for stealth the enemy.

4. Stripe wolf - After the white wolf taming mission, I gonna find this guy before I go back to my base. Because he's stronger than white wolf and immune to fire.


And this is my worst pet list that I think we gonna waste our time to tame it.

1. Snowblood wolf - Comparison to another great beast, This guy is hardest to tame and he's the weakest. Such a waste of time to tame him.

2. Honey badger - He's too slow. His short legs make him run slowly.You gonna lead him like 1 mile away and found yourself in trouble before he arrives.

The striped wolf has the stats of a cave lion but is fire proof and has the same perks as other wolfs, like making your mini-map bigger or alerting you of predators around you. Its hard to get but you technically don't even need to spend a point on the wild cats ability to get it. Just look up how go get it, it spawns in a certain area

The great scar bear for bonfires and outposts beacause he's very strong and the second one the bloodfang sabretooth beacause... I don't know he's scary?

I have a couple days put into this game. My favorite beast was the "blood fang saber tooth" but I decided to go after the "great scar bear" and I have to say, he's my new favorite because of his size, health, and damage. Only down side is that he's like the cave bear so unrideable and not very stealthy.

Tips on how to get a saber early in the game: once you get the mission to tame the wolf, upgrade Tensay's hut. Then use a point to unlock all the cats (stage 2 in the beast list) after that, tame 3 or 4 more beasts. Doesn't matter what the animal is. After that, you get to unlock the third stage in the beast list. Do Sayla's mission where you'll get to meet Ull. Once that's done, go after Karoosh's mission. Tame a bear to protect you on the trip there. In the mission after protecting Karoosh, you get to go in a cave. You'll have to kill cavelions in the first round. The second round, there will be a saber and a cavelion. Kill the lion but not the saber. find a quick way to throw meat to the saber. Once it starts to chew on it, you'll normally have to sneak up to it and BOOM. There you go. A saber at your command. Even if you had to kill it but you've already tamed it, you'll still be successful in the mission.


It worked for me, I don't know if they threw the saber in there randomly but it worked.

I like rare dhole. When you are attacking the outpost, he is collecting everything for you. And brown bear and lion are good.

I really like the bloodfang it looks really cool and is perfect for running around Oros and taking down enemies

Fun fact All animals can insta kill (Stealth attack) Unless enemy has armor that's why i use dhole so i get items which makes it faster

To bad none of the herbivores could be pets
Because it would be cool to have the mammoth the rhino and the tall elk to be tameable beasts
But unfortunately I don’t think that will ever happen ☹️

Blood Fang Sabertooth is the top predator of Oros and also my personal favorite.

I know this is 7 years old but I’m playing the game again cause it’s my favorite and it’s occurred to me that there is really no difference between scar bear and blood fang. Outside of stealth speed and riding the blood fang has the exact same stats so there is no reason to use scar bear other than its looks plus it always dies to dumb stuff and gets killed way easier by heavy enemies
