I remember when Griffin & Spalding existed before Debenham's, before the trams existed. My father worked for the Trent bus company before the merger with Barton and I had a very positive interview with Nottingham City Transport and, later, with London Transport. Eventually, I decided to do my Ph.D. at University College London and came to Japan to be a British Council lecturer. This led to a permanent position as a professor at Hiroshima University. I retired when I was 65, but am now 80 and still live here. The university moved to a new location, but I stayed in the city: my house is a short distance from the target for the atomic bomb, which was a T-shaped bridge. My original house was built in the Taisho era, before the atomic bomb was dropped. So it survived the bombing.

Just a shadow if it's former self, poor Nottingham what have they done to the city of my birth? empty shops and boarded up buildings even the pigeons in the "market square" looked depressed, what happened to the old market square where you could sit and meet people, have a good chat and pass the time of day? what a shame, great video though just showing the place how it is in the real world

High rent, high rates, ridiculous road layouts and restrictions. Nottingham city council is killing off the town slowly

I generally liked your video but how could you have missed out Upper Parliament Street, the Albert Hall, Nottingham Playhouse, Maid Marion Way, the Castle and Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem and instead managed to walk 3 (or 4?) times the same street between the Town Hall and Victoria Centre ?

The National Statistics labels Nottingham as one of the poorest, if not the poorest place in the UK. A "resurrection, " seems unlikely, as the economy is "shot to bits." This is so depressing, as this once amazing city just feels like a grave yard, compared to it's former self..
