The Pentastar V6 is one of Chryslers the most reliable engines theyve ever made. If Im not mistaken it was designed with Mercedes Daimler Chrysler. It is proven, reliable, and enough punch to get you going. If you dont have 70k to spend on a jeep then I see no reason not get the V6. The 4cyc turbo, 4xe, and the diesel options have not been proven yet .

I hate turbos for longevity, hope they keep the v6. On a Jeep, the V6 is the perfect balance with proven reliability if treated well. If I wanted FAST, I would've gotten a Hellcat.

A couple of questions I have are; What is the life expectancy of the 4cyl turbo vs V6 and; what is the average cost to keep the turbo engine going vs the V6 for say 200, 000 miles?

I recently bought Rubicon with 2.0 turbo and I love it. I was about 50/50 on V6 and 2.0 turbo so I could’ve gone either way, but from everything I know 2.0 turbo is more responsive, has better acceleration and definitely better gas mileage. I’m not against v6 but 2.0 turbo is definitely a lot of fun.

My 4.0 still runs brand new. It sounds badass starting up and purrs with no idle noise

Also to note the 2023 Rubicons deleted the two scrolls next to the headlight switches. If you want to dim or brighten your dash and interior light, it's now one scroll wheel instead of two.

I was leaning towards the 3.6L on my 2022 Rubicon Unlimited XR order. While I was waiting for my order, my wife got a 2019 Unlimited Sport with the 2.0T because she wanted something with better mileage. I thought the motor was going to be underpowered, but I was was pleasantly surprised. I figured my 3.6L would end up feeling more powerful than her 2.0T, I was wrong. Kind of disappointed with my 3.6L, should have gone with the 2.0L and gotten more response and fuel economy.

I just ordered a V6 etorque Rubicon just because the 2.0s seem kinda rough noisy and didn't have much power from a dead stop. Maybe the e torque helps the V6 off the line idk but the one I drove felt stronger to 30mph then the 2.0 after that they felt the same to me. V6 just much much smoother especially start stop functions not that we jeep guys leave that on lol.

Great complete video with great editing. Thanks for showing the pedal layout and foot room. Those seats look amazing!

Nice review, thank you. I personally would rather have a larger naturally aspirated engine over a smaller turbo or supercharged engine. NA engines have less to go wrong and generally last longer. If you have realistic expectations it's hard to beat the base 3.6.

I have owned 3 v6s and they were all bullet proof. I test drove the 2.0 and it was anemic compared to the v6. This was in Cheyenne at 7k elevation. I know the turbo 4 is reliable but I would take the v6 over it. I would love the v8 but can’t justify the cost.

V6 is plenty of power and very reliable

The 2.0 is attractive but I insist on having a manual as well. Therefore I guess I'm going with the V6. What you said about the 392's steering feel is opposite of what I've heard from other reviewers saying its the best driving Jeep. That said as long as the current Jeeps don't drive like old dump trucks and or pickups from the 80s then I'm certain theyre perfectly fine and safe feeling to drive. Have yet to test drive one. Great review as usual!

I suspect the emphasis on 4 cylinder engines with turbo’s will run its course just like EV’s have. Turbo’s come with maintenance issues….expensive maintenance issues.

The trend with manufacturers seems to be focused on these 4 cylinder engines with turbo’s. The performance is okay, let’s see how maintenance issues go. Premium fuel, is recommended for a reason.

My Wrangler has the 6 cylinder engine and I prefer that engine. Truthfully, that’s why I bought it.

why is the dashboard red on a blue wrangler? it looks very odd. I don't like it

For that money I'd want something more than that V6. Not a ton of options but I would've like to see them drop a 5.7 in there. Yeah, It'd take up a lot of space but what engine compartment isn't packed these days?

I think the V6 is more on budget friendly side. If you want a good looking jeep and not care about the power ( don't get me wrong V6 have enough power for most user out there ) then probably go get the V6. It's better to have things to choose from than to have nothing at all 😁
