Listen, bro, I stand corrected you were right I was looking at it wrong and now I understand better. You got a new radiator hose with a new plastic nipple that is crazy the way they put that together but anyway, please accept my apologies because you definitely know what you’re doing. Have a wonderful day and get that baby. !

U right bad engineering. I've replaced a lot of them for leaking

Replaced one on a Durango and a Dakota that I owned. If you have a vehicle with that style hose and it has been more than 3 years since it was replaced. I would suggest replacing it.

I said that same thing on the other video, that is a 2 piece hose with the pressure cap in the middle, kinda weird design but its what the engineers did. Not all 2.4s have this setup but this gen did

Yep, I've replaced a few of these that have broken in the same way. Too much cheap plastic. I wonder if Dorman makes one with a metal bit where the cap connects? 😂😂😂

I fix this on my 95 V8 Dakota I swapped it out for a 3 row aluminum one for a 71 cuda

I saw the video the same way. The way the cap is sitting it looks like the top of the radiator😂😂

JT is the best 🎉🎉🎉.
All that looks like engineering failure to me.

Man I done replaced 3 of those hoses on 3 different chrysler cars. Dodge avenger, chrysler 200, and a dodge suv. Anything with the 2.4 engine

I replaced this assembly on our daughters Journey at 150 thousand miles. Gates product for $64 Canadian. When one piece goes you're better off replacing the entire length.

Designed for repairs by Engineers. How many plastic coolant parts have you changed out?

It last for a long time but and it's subject to break again.

They have to cut weight on vehicles to meet a certain mpg average across their fleet. Unfortunately plastic is lighter than metal and this is the result.

I’m sure someone out there makes a non plastic version!!

That breaks all the time and don't accidentally lean on that!

Gotta love all the corner cutting and putting plastic where metal should be. They’ve been doing this ever since I started out fixing vehicles 25+ years ago.
