The #1 Question I Get Asked As A Realtor?

“When is the right time to buy?” This is without a doubt the number 1 question I get asked as a realtor. And truthfully, the answer is different for every person. There are so many factors that play into not only is it a good time in the market to buy, but, more importantly, is it a good time for YOU to buy.

The one thing I tell all my clients is that you never lose until you sell so one of the biggest factors is how long do you plan on staying? I think there’s a lot of fear around “overpaying” for a property and I get it. There’s no better feeling than the sense of getting a good deal. However, let’s say you do overpay on a home that you absolutely love and is your forever home. Did you really overpay? You’re never going to lose because you have no intention of selling.

Some other factors to consider are what kind of market is it (buyer vs seller), do you need to sell your current home or can you keep it as an investment home, is location high on your list and what’s the inventory like in that area, is financing easy to get or more challenging… all of these play a roll in whether it’s a good time to buy or not.
