How Big Are The Megalodon Sharks In The Meg 2 Trailer?

Warner Bros. has published the first trailer for their upcoming sequel, Meg 2: The Trench, and it looks like it's time to go back under the sea. Jason Statham returns to the character of Jonas Taylor, the rescue diver doomed to survive these terrible encounters with the prehistoric beasts, five years after the first film in the franchise was released. This summer will be terrifying for everyone, as a sequel to Jaws is on the way and will do everything it can to discourage people from going near the water. Statham can't do everything by himself, especially since there are always new threats to deal with on the ocean floor.

Man, seeing that giant squid caught me off guard. And some new creatures in the film and dinos. Man, I think this will be better than part 1.

I Know This Will Sound Crazy But I Think The Meg That Killed The T.Rex Is The Same Apex Meg Or The Biggest Meg In The Trailer Because If You Go Back At The 65 Million Year Prologue We See When The Meg Was Biting The T.Rex, The Rex Uses It’s Left Leg To Damage Or Scratch The Megs Skin On The Left Side Of The Face And In The Present The Largest Meg Has A Bit Of Scarring On It’s Left Side Of The Face Just Like The Prehistoric Meg.

There are two reasons they had the Meg crap on the T. rex in that trailer. First reason is that it is faithful to the prologue to the original book… and the second reason was to just join in on crapping on the T. rex.

I STILL find it funny how after they killed the only 2 that were supposedly left, when like 3 more plus other ancient sea creatures broke free, they were like “yep this is normal”

Just as a reference for some.... the opening scene in the new trailer is the prolog for Steve Alten's first book. In the book, the T-Rex gets stuck in the mud/sand chasing duck-billed dinosaurs and the scene is described as a monstrous fin emerges and the T-Rex is bitten in half essentially. It is a gory description and terrifying as well. If this movie is anything like any of the books (I'm assuming it may incorporate Hell's Aquarium along with The Trench), then it may be pretty gory and terrifying. I wonder if the ghost white, Angel (a meg named due to its ghost white skin) will make her debut in this film.

Jason statham is on another level
Hes about to slay a 60 foot megalodon, 80 foot megalodon and a 150 foot megalodon all in 1 movie

The mass (weight) would actually be cubed (to the power 3) of the factor in size difference. So for example, let’s say the big Meg in the 1st film was 75ft long: A shark that size would weigh about 120 tons. If the prehistoric Meg is twice as long, it’s 8X heavier! We’re talking nearly 1000 tons, truly ridiculous, so I’d say classifying it as Kaiju-level proportions is accurate.

This will definitely be better than the first one. I was thrown way off the edge seeing the prehistoric era and a 110 ft Meg snatching up a Trex. Then he's going up against the mighty kraken... Damn I'm excited!!! & they kept the same characters(actors), Big Dub.

The largest meg could be bigger than its prehistoric counterpart as it might of evolved, but the meg could be bigger as he has a head almost as long a tyrannosaurs which is 40ft long on average and as its head is only a a part of its body it could actually be much larger than we suspect.

From “you’re gunna need a bigger boat” to a jet ski. That’s progress

The 180 foot sized fictional meg in the movie compared to the actual 50-60 one that existed, makes the movie seem silly، as a stretch by the producers.

4:27 nah, Spinosaurus wasn't the largest terrestrial carnivore, but it was the longest terrestrial carnivore, while Tyrannosaurus and Giganotosaurus are the largest (Both tie at 10.4 tons)

We need a Jurassic World crossover so we can see The Meg vs Mosasaur

the thing that pisses me off about the rex scene is that the meg would have pulverized it with the initial bite... look at how big those teeth are compared to the skull of the rex... that bite would have forced the massive weight of the meg into the rex driving those teeth straight into the rex's brain. It wouldnt have gotten the chance to fight back, it would have died instantly, and the meg very likely would have made a hell of a mess trying to carrying it back out to sea... Those teeth are designed to cut through flesh and bone like a hot knife through butter... They portrayed the rex as being able to fight back like the jurassic world indominus did against the mosa when it was grabbed, but the mosa had teeth designed to capture slippery prey... Its entirely different, different beasts entirely with different means of attack and different types of damage their bites would inflict...

Instead of a beaching attack, they should have had a rex attacked swimming from island to island, hit from below and severed in two with a single massive bite from below. Megs are not orcas, they are sharks, and they would probably not have a reverse gear... beaching for a meg would be suicidal... The whole damn sequence was just a knockoff of the mosa attack.

Sorry for the rant guys, just hate how these megs and the book series i love are being portrayed... They turned A grade material into a b movie at best. Independent of the books, this looks like the 2010 piranaha film meets jaws. Its certainly a TYPE of entertainment, but it doesnt live up to what it should be. You have books that could create a series of movies of a similar level to jurassic park if done right. Instead... This is what we get.
