my previous phone was the samsung a70 so the a33 5g is a definite upgrade for me. With modern phones nowadays, you really can't have them all without having to pay a premium price (which is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion) but to compare the two phones side by side, the a33 5g has slightly better features.

Hi wouldn't say these are reasons to "avoid" a device but simply features that the device doesn't have .
When you say avoid, means trouble .
You as reviewer you're kinda playing 2 personalities in the same review, fan/hater .
It's bad but I like it and I don't mind .
Basically on every single point you make .
This are A series, that's the point of these devices, bring decente specs for lower prices, obviously the main change it's the device body .
Ain't no difference from any A series .
That's the whole point about Samsung A series .
For the price ? Nothing to complaint about .
Although I give you the notch remark but saying "avoid" it's a quite strong word .

Sounds more like 7 nitpicks that aren't deal breakers for a phone that works.

It's a significant upgrade in power from the previous generation A52 (yes! I said A52 not A32 which is the equivalent) plus if you're replacing a phone more than 2 years old (like an oppo reno 2) this will essentially outperform that anyway.

The real question is this: how does an A33 5G stack up against present day rivals in the same market segment?

Are you kidding me, you want a wireless charging feature in mid range phones that cost way less than premium devices???
Only very few limited midrange phones managed to have wireless charging feature but it cost around 500 euro... What a stupid reason to avoid for it's price range..

Dont compare budget phones to flagships because they are budget phones for a reason.Would greatly improve this reveiw if you didnt compare it to phones 3x the price

What you explained is true for about half the phones today. Not too much power, no wireless charging, (I have no idea about Dex at all so whatever), jack missing, having notch or cam bubble etc. These are kinda standards still off premium.

For me this phone is a huge upgrade: my current Alcatel 1SE scores 151 on Single- and 785 on Multi-Core 🤣.
None of the 7 reasons are for me a reason not to buy this phone.

The reasons you mentioned are not directly related to it's segment. Other than the headphone jack the rest of the stuff is pretty much non existing on previous midrange samsung phones. You say "if you are upgrading from a S series phone" sorry but that's no upgrade at all. Sorry but this video is pretty confusing to me.

Replaced my Moto G5g plus with this 2 months ago as the Moto was stuck on Android 11 and no more security updates. Bad move. This Samsung is so full of bloatware and duplicate apps and apps I do not want it's ridiculous. So many can't be uninstalled, so many can't even be disabled and even if you manually stop the crap they start up again in the background. One called 'digital wellbeing' restarts and uses 6 to 7% of your battery off every charge to monitor what you are doing! I do not need monitoring! Last Samsung I will ever buy!

Appreciate the review my wife ordered this for my birthday! All I am finicky about is a decent speed and good camera for quick work shots and video of the kids when it comes to phones. All those cons I wouldnt be missing out on but I'll see about the benchmark in a few hours when my Moto G stylus finishes it lol. I am a tech guy but also a skateboarder, drops happen and I could never put $1000s into a phone so seems like a huge step up for me. Cheers!

This phone is by far the best for me in this range of price as have a screen time of 7 to 8 hours of genshin impact but still the game runs on low settings with 45fps constant. Which is decent thinking it has exynos processor and the phone do heats but not that much of extent cause I haven't felt it while playing games
