I used to work at Zales Corp offices for the head Solitaire Buyer. I can tell you for a FACT that diamonds are CHEAP ROCKS and nothing more. Our traders that purchased our raw diamond supply bought them for $100.00 a HANDFUL or LESS!
And contrary to what the public has been told, it does NOT cost much money to cut and polish a rock.
The REAL cost of a cut and polished diamond of ANY cut and clarity is about $50.00. Everything else is nothing but sheer greed-mongering profit markup.
