Even if the US wants to lift sanctions against Russia, do you think Russia would sell EU oil and gas? The EU needs cheap gas to make more arms which can be used against Russia later on.

Austria was still getting cheap Russian gas until they refused to pay the bill, claiming an EU court absolved them from paying. Like any other consumer, if you don't pay, you get cut off. As for Germany, all they have to do is say "please" and they can have their cheap reliable Russian gas back via the surviving Nord Stream pipeline.
