I've had this idea floating in my head for a while now, and since I've got nothing to do I made a video for it.

This actually makes sense I used to think this was how it works instead of spikes like most people

If you think about it, the suits would be perfect if the springlocks' default position would be the costume mode.

The design choice of having the suits default status as animatronic mode instead of costume mode turned a brilliant idea into a rejected Saw trap.

This actually makes sense, people on YouTube often make the book version of the springlocks, which are like some bolts and pointy things you pull back instead of the endoskeleton retracting, like the games

How the springlocks work had always confused me.
I amused that it pulls the endoskeleton back just enough of someone to get in and when something goes wrong the endoskeleton pops back into place, crushing the person in the progress. Sorta like winding a moving wall back in back.
Many people's takes on it was that they remove the endoskeleton from the suit which adds to the question on how would it kill William.
In fnaf 3, you can see that there's an endoskeleton still in there. It just covered up in William's decaying remains

0:05 sometimes foreshadowing can be quite subtle

This is how it works. Its in human mode, so the endo is pushed away. But if you make too much contact, into animatronic mode.
1. Do not panic. Tears will only make it worse.
2. Do not move. Same thing as last one.
3. -đįě- Wait for someone to enter the room.

I always imagined something similar to this, though instead it was more the round metal frame that constricted and dilated.

This actually makes a lot more sense now

Now this makes a lot more sense since instead of flimsy holdings keeping it safe it feels a lot more sturdy when it’s a set of acres so even if one fails the rest can pick up the slack.

yup that springlock looks more advanced and cool 😎

As someone that's currently working on a spring lock concept as well, this is pretty good

There's still some kinks I think don't quite match up, but this is one of the better ones I've seen out there

i can literally just hear the "look who fell asleep first"

Imagine getting your torso stuck in that thing 😬

Just imagine how LONG it would take to retract the springlocks individually

Now I know how Willian Afton felt when the clothes crushed him inside

This actually fits in the tapes description. Most who don't listen closely to the FNAF3 calls think that springlocks are spikes or thin, pointy objects that simply appear out of nowhere rather than being a simple, fully mechanical spring mechanism.

this would make a lot of sense considering how springtrap's model looks ingame, like his bones have been completely replaced by the suit and rotted away over time.

This feels like the most correct version, might I suggest making one of the mask.
