I have the Hoselink for now 2 years. I love it. It spends more than 6 hours a day in the direct sun with no issue. I live in New England so it has to come in for the winter. Just detach the lead and lift it off the mount. I purchased a second mount to store it on in my garage in the winter. The only down side is the included plastic quick connects are junk. I also find it rewinds better if I first turn off the water. That is not really a problem since you want to walk it back anyway to control the rewind. I love this and think it is a great value!

I have had my eley hose reel around 14 years, it gets used almost every day during summer and still works great.

I have an eley on wheels and my wife and kids will not use it. They think rewinding the hose is too much of a hassle. They are happy with the hoselink though.

My dad has an Eley 2 wheel portable reel. It's double digits old (15-16 years maybe?) Still works. Back then they went by the name "rapid reel" I still remember the day he was winding up his hose in a cheap plastic portable reel and it broke on him. He launched that sucka across his back yard lol.

I purchased the Eley last year, and it worked really well. But, this spring, the short bent copper piece started leaking like a sieve. I'm not sure why, as I believe I had gotten out all the water over the winter. At the price of this unit, I was quite unhappy to have a leak. But, I used Eley's warranty web support, and sent them a pic of the leak. They got right back to me, apologized for the problem, and fast-shipped me a new piece. Apparently that piece has been redesigned to what you see now in Tim's video. Thank you Eley for standing by your product. Now that I'm past that issue, I really do like the hose real. It seems that the plastic ones just break eventually. Now I just need to save up to get 2 more Eley's for my other faucets!

I also have the Hoselink version. Love that thing. I do have questions about durability. I've only had it for this season. Fingers crossed it works for a few years. Love it!

Thanks for the shout! I'm curious to see how my Hoselink reels do over time as well as far as durability testing goes. I have one on the north side of my house that's shaded pretty much all day, and just installed another one on the west side which gets a lot of sun exposure during the hottest parts of the day, so that will be a good test, too.

First Aussie 😁. I’ve had my hoselink 25 m Hiflow hose reel out in the front yard for three years now and hasn’t let me down . You can buy covers for the reel body for sun protection and the hose has patented no burst hose connections. Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi. 🇦🇺

If they made an eley hose reel that worked like the hose link (a metal hose link?) I would buy five of them right now. In the mean time I’ll just keep struggling with the old school thing you hang and then wrap the hose on.

I saw the hose link on Jimmys channel and I’m definitely considering it, looks like it will last even being built of mostly plastic and the convenience seems unmatched by any other! 👌🏼

I'm interested in durability of the plastic retractable one. Hope you do a follow-up video in a couple months.
The Metal one appears more durable.
