That has to be one of my absolute favorite things about Luffy. He appears to be a hero because we see the story through his perspective, with him helping people quite a bit, but that's not entirely the case. Through the eyes of most of the general public, he's still a criminal, and considered a threat to society.

I want all of the meat for myself" - such a simple and ridiculous way of saying it, nut that is why luffy is the goat, he just does what he thinks he has to do because of his morality because he is the freest among all, but he never claimed to do the right things.

The world building in One Piece is the greatest in all of not only manga, but FICTION. The way every small occurence has a consequence and impact in different areas of the world and how they show reveals is absolutely awesome.

Luffy’s lack of heroic ideals really lends to his character since all of the nice things he does for others are his true feelings and actions rather than some heroism he’s trying to live up to.

I liked Obito's story, but I really love how Oda made Zoro go from this guy whose ambition is singular to having him laying down his life for Luffy. That doesn't contradict Zoro's ambition in the slightest mind you it's just framed in the idea that "If I can't protect my captain, I wasn't even worthy of reaching the strongest anyways." It's such a good pay off for a really behind the scenes character development.

Something I really like is how you state "in my opinion" or " I personally like" instead of just saying "yes this character is better then the other and your opinion doesn't matter"

They really pit Obito and Zoro up. The (arguably) most well developed Naruto character against a character designed to be the straight man.

, the same goes for Naruto his also not trying to be a hero his trying to be acknowledged by everyone who abused and ridiculed him. A lot of people don’t actually know why Naruto wanted to be hokage, if anything that dream kept him alive, he would’ve been stuck in depression and could of committed suicide because of it (if anyone doesn’t know he was in depression before realising his goal)

Both Luffy and Naruto are "flat" or "static" characters. Which from a writing perspective means they start the story with a strong belief system or "truth" and they change/influence the world around them. But I feel like Naruto is a little more "round" of a character. Naruto gets influenced by the world around him more than Luffy does. Which makes Naruto mature as the story goes on. I love Luffy as a character but I prefer the writing of Naruto as a character a little more. He goes from an energetic knuckle head to a married man with children and responsibilities which is great character growth.

Great takes. I personally prefer sasuke over sanji although sanji is definitely easier to relate to. Obito is my favorite Naruto character and luffy is my fav character oat

I’d say the motive writing for Zoro and Obito is good but Zoro takes that part of the writing cause obito started his shit over a 14 year old girl💀💀

I got one example for why OP is better written then Naruto, we each had a arc involving one or two of WG members in the arc (except for Urogue) as well as arcs that involve the Warlords where as in Naruto we only see what 4 of the Tailed Beast and their jinchūriki in arcs and if we do see the others it’s only for a brief moment
