SRSL Lubrication Regimes

There are four types of lubrication regimes within the industrial world;
*Boundary Lubrication – usually happens on start up or shut down of the equipment
*Mixed Lubrication – occurs before the full film of oil has been formed
*Hydrodynamic Lubrication – present when there is a full film of oil separating the surfaces
*Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication – takes place when the lubricant deforms the component to maintain the film of lubricant usually at the highest contact pressure
