So true !! These advices are also very good when you work as a producer with an artist.

great video, man. the exact definition of 'less is more'.
6 questions, if you read these comments: 1- how many WATTS your house requires, to power those thousands music devices? do you ever turn stuff off, to save the hardware..and have you some kind of switch that will turn on/off the synth area 1, synth area 2, etc, in case you aren't going to utilize some devices for some time... ?
question 2: you showed us your cubase/Vienna pro 5 workflow, where you have multi-core xeon servers for, ex, diva/zebra stuff. what system do you have as your main computer, what soundcards/ins-outs cards you have, to capture/wordclock everything, how many ins you can record at once in cubase ? because steinberg says cubase will work better on faster cpus than slower/more cores cpus, were you able to quickly benchmark cubase on your fastest xeon server (20 cores, i think?) to see if your multi core xeon server can work faster/better than your 'desktop' computer. also, are you using a fast extreme edition cpu as main computer, or do you have like a dell/hp dual xeon workstations ?
question 3: are you going to upgrade your 'machines', with latest I7 6950x extreme edition, with 10 physical cores ? + upgrading some of your servers ? or you are too afraid of fking up your computers/ windows, and won't be upgrading anything before 4 or 5 years?
question 4: with your complex cubase routing and setup, are you a cubase beta-tester ? because i don't think there would be a better beta tester, as your cubase gets used beyond insanity :)
question 5 : are you working in 24/96 ? is 192khz useless, for today's Hollywood needs ? all your tracks are quad, or you start everything with 2 channels ?
question 6 and last: don't other composers, like big old Hollywood guys, find it weird, that non only you're not working on protools, but you do all your stuff on cubase, instead of nuendo?

i know you don't have time to answer these questions... but do you think you could make a little 5 minutes video where you reply to these questions (that thousands other subscribers would love to know as well) ? it would be interesting to learn about your main computer, how it is fine tuned, how your audio interfaces are working/connected to/with the pc/synths, how your servers perform, how xeon vs i7 improve /increase your workflow/realtime playing of cpu-heavy synths like diva, what features you would like steinberg to add to cubase, etc etc. we'd love to hear/watch it from you.

for your time you will take for that video, i will send a little 50E donation, (even if you don't need it) so you can sip a nice beer, as a 'thank you' :) in advance, thank you, Tom ;)

I can't wait to hear your score for a future Mad Max film! There are so many things I love about Fury Road, but your score made the movie %70 more effective!!

constraint induces inspiration, I'd say that's pretty accurate, for me as a writer and what little music I've done.

Hey Tom! Your videos are the highlights of my Youtube life. Do you know Rick Beato? He's another producer/composer/film scorer who also has a Youtube channel similar to yours. I think the two of you would have a lot to talk about if you don't already know each other.

Hey Tom, are the Dynos active or passive versions? I would love to hear about your monitoring system in general. Cables, stands, acoustic treatment of your studio, etc
Do you have a "personal" hifi system besides the pro stuff?

Again as i commemt on your latest video, a Video about the Dynaudios and the complete Hifi Stuff (Amplifier, Cable...) would be great. And what Genres do you hear beside your Music. Maybe some special Electronic Genres like Drumnbass (Noisia, Black Sun Empire..) ?

Do they typically give you story boards or a perhaps roughly cut sequence of footage to compose to?

If you are going to record your score for real players, do you make the scores or would you pay someone else to do it?
