it is quite hard to find the city centre so empty... you were lucky :) you should see it over weekends, it is usually totally crowded with tourists.

Funny fact. Since 1. January of 1969 till 1990, today Slovak Republic was called Slovak socialistic republic and it was part of federation with own national council. Since 1990 till 1993, word socialist was dropped from name and whole name of federation with brothers Czechs was called Czech and Slovak Federative Republic. So beer is not older then Slovakia :P

So glad you enjoyed Bratislava. However, the hotel you are staying in - the Park Inn is probably the most hated hotel in the city by the locals :-) The owner has broken several regulations and erected a cheap-looking modern building in the very historical center. That is why many locals ignore or despise it.

I live in Bratislava whole life and i must say, this weather, last 5-10 years have nothing to do with winter and coldness. 10 years ago was like - 10° everyday and snow everywhere u look and now? Its like 0 - 6° :/
