Yo I'm tired of putting way too much effort into school projects and getting jack credit for it. This was another documentary I did for the visual portion of my research paper detailing how Rubber Hose Animation of the 20s and 30s deserves more props for it's creativity.

Used to go to camp where we would study different kinds of animation. I think most people don’t quite realize just how painstakingly brutal it was to try and make an animation in this style.
Before computers this process could take YEARS, drawing each and every individual frame. Each and every second of film could be made of dozens of individually drawn images. If coloring was off or the animation didn’t sync with the music you had to redraw the entire scene, there was no program to fix that, and when everything moves in such a flowy manner like it does in rubberhose there is a LOT of room for error. If that doesn’t warrant some respect, I don’t know what does.

A large part of the rubber hose animations was the bouncing effect that characters had, which occurred because of the big band jazz era soundtracks that were specifically composed for the animated shorts. It would be beneficial to include some commentary on that note, or to include some of the music from the shorts themselves to showcase why the characters seem to 'bounce.'
