The more ads we see
the less we notice the ad
the less valuable ads become to companies
So companies pay less for ads so newspapers have to put more ads to make money

There's no such thing as a free lunch. However, my measure of how much is too much is I compare youtube ads against live TV. A 60 second ad block placed around every 10-15 minutes is reasonable. 90 seconds every 5 minutes is insane.

Even the FBI recommends using adblockers. Youtube ad moderation is non existent.
