Paradise Lost's album Gothic(1991), is such a master piece that the power and brilliance of that album's sound still shines, and still comes through in PL's live performances of Gothic, and on this re-recording of the album title track.

Yesterday I just lestened to 3 times the Gothic LP. This masterpiece and decidedly Nick's voice drove me to become a death metal singer. Well, I do not believe in their turning back, but hope never dies.

Good to hear this classic redone with modren studio techniques ..nothing wrong with the original version as it still holds up. I listened to Gothic on a few tabs of blooter long ago and it has been burned into my psyche for decades. Eternal(lol) top shef doom metal.

Saw them do this song live in Wolverhampton tonight he sounded just like this. They also did a song off Lost Paradise which I was not expecting! Long live Paradise Lost the under rated British band ever!!!

OK, now "Eternal", then "Shattered", then... the whole bloody album! This sounds far better than I expected. In fact, I had no expectations from it, but it turned out superb!

I started listening to this band when the album Reflection came out . (I still think it's one of the best "Best of" albums ever). And whenever I hear this band I am still sure that I keep listening to good music.

Bunch of dudes crying about the redoing of a classic PL track?

Say it ain't so.

IMO, this is far and above better than the first. I think PL has grown into a very respectable middle age. They've long been one of the only metal bands I like of any genre and this track proves that they have developed one skill and that is creating and maintaining an ambiance that doesn't scream despair, it strangles it.
