My soul doth magnify the Lord,
And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior,
Because He has regarded the humility of His handmaid:
for behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed;
Because He that is mighty
has done great things to me; and Holy is His Name.
And His mercy is from generation unto generations,
on those who fear Him.
He has shown might in His arm:
He hath scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart.
Put down the mighty from their thrones,
and exalted the humble.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich He has sent empty away.
He has received Israel, His servant,
being mindful of His mercy
As He spoke to our fathers,
to Abraham and to his seed forever.
Amen.

I dont know why, but I heard this, & started crying again.. I had an experience, just last night, when I heard the song..I knew nothing about the meaning, but it came to me & explained everything, through a sort of vision, tears..something about the blood of Christ, and the meaning of suffering, trust...all from Mary, who Im named after. I think I need to talk to a priest. There's a lot more to it. I just wonder if anyone has insight about any of this, & has had a similar experience with the Magnificat. I havent studied any of this; I don't want to disrespect the Holy thing that it is by posting this on YT, then I found this here, thought someone might have some thought about this powerful & profound Magnificat.thank you.

as students at st vincent's academy in the 50's (sisters of charity) in albuquerque, we learned to chant/sing these NT verses in english....and to hear the sisters just sing/chant this as kids was so very beautiful.

Great prayer will pray it every day to remember Gods greatness, funny thing happened to me when a friend of mine who didn't know this prayer started to resiting these exact words and I ended up saying the whole prayer when he said this and he thought I was crazy.I then explained to him that the words I said were Mary's prayer, I told him that he remembered me of it when he said God lead the humble to greatness and the self great to ruins for they play his job through their pride.Such a wonderful day for this and I prays God and thank him that he has given me his word on daily and that he has given me the heart to calmly listen.Amen
