Can you do this exact same study in a bear market to see if the outcome is reversed

So I close my trades at 50% profit. I don't worry about pulling out at 21 days if it looks like I just need to wait longer. On the other hand I don't want my money tied up longer than it needs to be. This has caused me to move away from Iron Condors. If it was just a put credit spread than I'd be out quick after a decent movement. But if I'm in an iron condor I'd end up closing the winning side but holding on to the now-losing side. So I always feel like I'm tying my money up for a long time when doing iron condors. What am I missing?
