Some political analysts believe that while the formation of new political parties is a sign of a strong democracy, it also indicates a fragmented political system. Over the past three years, the country has seen an explosion of new parties, all aiming to contest the 2024 polls.
So far, the IEC has registered over 534 political parties nationally and provincially. But do these parties have what it takes to convince voters that they have something meaningful to offer?
