Redneck Air Conditioner - High Tech version DIY

This is a 12v redneck air conditioner built by myself. It runs off battery power or a solar panel and works great to cool small spaces like a tent. I specifically built this to work in a tent that I will be camping in for the Daytona 400 on the 4th of July.

I added a 12v marine cigarette lighter so I can charge USB devices and a water pump to circulate ice water through 25 feet of 1/4 inch copper tubing that goes up to a coil in the cold air outlet. I used 10 feet of 5/16" vinyl tubing to attach to the coil so it will be flexible enough to open the lid. The cigarette lighter is always on as long as its hooked up to a battery or solar panel. The water pump is wired to the on/off switch for the fan.

The fan and cooler are from Wal Mart
