My current eyeliner obsession is Physicians Formula shimmer strips in Warm Nude...creamy, long lasting and beautiful sheen to them....this set has a not too black, bronze and most times layer the bronze and copper for an amazing ombré effect!! One end retractable liner and other built in sharpener....my personal favorite!

Yay for brown eyeliner! It's been hard to find brown eyeliners (and mascaras) that stay put on my hooded, oily lids and don't irritate my contacts. Several favorites have been discontinued over the years.

My current favorites:
CoverGirl Perfect Blend (Mink or Taupe)
Stila Stay All Day Waterproof liquid eyeliner - Rich Chocolate

The Jesse's Girl Waterproof liquid eyeliner - Dark Brown is a dupe for the Stila, but it does dry out faster. It's easy to grab them at Rite Aid on sale, though so I keep one in my handbag.

I avoided the mess of liquid liners until I discovered the felt tip can do a little flick upward to offset my down-turned lids.

I'm with you on the colors. We're similar in coloring, so that makes sense. Lately I've enjoyed Catrice Liquid Metal eyeliner. They don't require a sharpener, though, and I really prefer those kind. I use the Hazel the Hoff (brown) and Lilac is Back in Nearly Black (a dark purple close to black)

Physician's Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum in Deep Brown...my absolute all-time favorite eyeliner over anything else I've ever tried. Does not budge all day, but comes off easily (I use the Boscia Cleansing Oil or the CR cleansing balm to take off all of my makeup, including eye makeup). I've recommended it to several friends and family members and they all now swear by it!

I also like the Urban Decay 24/7 liner but because my lids are so hooded, I only tight line (like Uppiesbeads59). In the spring & summer, I like to run a little Rimmel turquoise in my lower water line. Enhances my blue eyes without looking like I'm wearing liner.

I tried the Aqua XL, and I felt it did not stay put really. I recently tried the Marc Jacobs skinny eye liners, and it makes liner SO easy, and it really sets. I do a wing, and love how easy the Marc Jacobs makes it. I am going to try the Rimmel in colors as I use the Scandaleyes one that is in cream for my bottoms water line, and it is great. :) I also love a simple pop of color on top, and have always stuck to dark brown, too. Black looks fine on me, but I think my mother drilled it in my head from a young age to only wear brown, so it stuck. LOL! -Quincey

I am fair too and my favorite eyeliners are:

* Sephora Contour Eye Color 12HR in black lace (matte charcoal), Nacre (shimmer), Pailette (glitter-charcoal) and Tiramisu (matte dark brown) (WATERPROOF)
* Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl in Blue My Mind and Cocoa Bean (WATERPROOF)
* Ulta Gel Eyeliner in Bronze & Copper

These all have pretty good staying power, but I can remove easily with a cleansing balm.

Great video, Marnie! As a GAW myself, I've been wearing makeup for over 30 years (!) and thought I knew the best way to apply eyeliner. I tried your tip of holding the pencil at a side angle (as opposed to holding it more straight on as I have usually done) and really like the way it applied. Curious how often you sharpen your pencils and what you use for a sharpener. I like a more pointed tip on my eyeliner and that's my complaint about them. I'd also recommend the Sephora brand of waterproof eyeliners.

I recently switched to a charcoal liner and have been loving the maybelline master precise skinny eyeliner in charcoal. So good if you have smaller eyes and want a precise line. 👍

I get super excited when I see a new GAW video. I'm as GA as I'm likely to get but I still feel I need advice, tutorials and recommendations. I definitely agree about the black eyeliner. I have a fair complexion with grey/mousey hair and it looks terrible on me. The only colour I wear, in addition to brown and charcoal, is a matt burgundy, which I find brings out the colour of my eyes.

The perfect teal color works amazingly well for certain color eyes. Mine are midway between green and blue, and that's the best color.

I love to tightline my upper lid with a brighter shade, especially turquoise with my hazel eyes. It is such a subtle POP and folks cannot figure out what it is....
