Depending on the size/density/direction of the hail, granules can either be imbedded into the asphalt or displaced completely. It also depends on the age and malleability of the shingle. If the shingle is older and more brittle, the granules will more than likely be displaced. Hail damage really isn’t a black+white thing. Best thing to do when verifying if the damage is natural
Vs vandalism is to make sure the collateral damages match the same size and elevation direction of the damages on the roof. Only seeing “hail impacts” in a 10’x10’ square on the most accessible portion of the slope ass opposed to being throughout the entire slope can also be a dead giveaway that it’s vandalism. I’m not disagreeing with what you’re saying, just adding to it! Keep doing your thing 😎

lol, I live in a retirement community in East Marlboro Pa… after the hail storm we had contractors climbing the roofs for months with ball peen hammers and providing g people with feee roofs. I was literally waking up for weeks on end because of them hammering on the roof with hammers fitting the “free inspection” then coming back later and replacing the whole roof. ⚒️

Not all that uncommon is Kansas city.. inspected behind lots of contractors who marked MASSIVE amounts of “hail damage” Makes it a lot harder for the rest of us
