DISCLAIMER: The cuffs used in this video (B3 Bands) are not intended for the determination of arterial occlusion pressure as per the manufacturer. Therefore, the use of the aforementioned cuff product is not being used according to B3's guidelines, nor did they endorse or support the making of this video in any way. This video is entirely for educational purposes.
Blood flow restriction (BFR) is now common practice in many demographics, including recreational populations. Therefore, it is important that standardization is promoted, commensurate with proper assessment of arterial/limb occlusion pressure (AOP/LOP).
This demonstration uses a narrow-elastic cuff, therefore requiring higher pressures to reach AOP. Proper BFR should be performed with ~40-80% AOP, assuming all experience and medical considerations accounted for.
