Nick and Griffin plan which microphones and cameras they’ll need for next week’s three-person shoot. Plus, your questions about sound on a budget documentary, upgrading your editing machine, and when you need a location release to sell stock footage.

I'm completely self taught and lack so much of the storytelling and planning knowledge.. This will be very helpful

I don't understand how you went from having the number one filmmaking show on YouTube to only having a thousand or two views per video. I still love your content btw.

Sadly Siracha is not on Amazon Prime streaming in Denmark. Griffin, you might look into how availiable your movie is outside the US. Alot of movie podcasts, facebook pages etc, that I follow mention shows/films availiable on various platforms. But thats just the US versions of the platforms. Content on US Netflix is very different than Netflix in Denmark (and other countries). It's probably a licencing issue. But I think Indie filmmakers, who own their own work, should be aware of their work being availiable on foreign versions of streaming services, so they expand their possible income :-) ...the good news is that Siracha is on many other platforms. That are also accessible in denmark :-)

Griffin I would say go with the GoPro because the drone doesn’t produce any audio and less you’re doing a live stream And it’s just gonna be more difficult to sync audio using a drone

Red Letter Media usually do 3 cams: 1 wide, 1 med on the lead host and 1 med on the 2 other hosts who are facing the lead at around 120 degrees, all lav'd up. Works quite well.

I'm Famous! XD ;)
Oh yea, The company that does the lights on the Eiffel Tower will straight up hit you with a DMCA if you upload footage of the tower lights at night. Because they own the copyright to the light show. They were considering doing something similar in NYC with releases for movies, but it would be impossible to have the owners sign off on those forms, so they abandoned it.

ooo Wait! Would Adam be bringing his A7S? If he does, then you can use that as a third camera! so one wide, and 2 CU shots! And for audio, maybe try 3 2 1 (3 lavs, 2 shotguns, 1 Baby Bottle) and just make sure the 2 shotguns are far apart enough (and do some tests too beforehand) to avoid phasing and then you have multiple options/redundancy in case something goes wrong with one. Just a thought, I know that does sound like a lot of variables though, but its certainly an option if you can fit it lol

I was wondering with the GH5, if you want a extra zoom, within the camera. Is 4K live cropping or digital zoom 2x better? Keep up the good work ;-)

Purely theoretically, wouldn't a drone be even better than a first person camera in the VR experience room? Like, a drone with follow mode or something like that, way above the head. Wouldn't it capture the feel of the space way more?
