Quick Closeup - a Swatch Sistem51 on a watch timegrapher

Показать описание
In this #TalkingTimepieces Quick Closeup we put a first-generation #Swatch Sistem51 Irony on a #watch timegrapher. The #Sistem51automatic movement has just 51 components via a simplified and efficient design, which are glued and ultrasonically welded together to form a single assembly with only a single screw to hold the winding weight. It is the only mechanical movement ever made whose assembly is 100% automated. The #escapement has no regulator, and the rate is set at the factory by laser.

I keep finding these sistem51 for laughingly low prices and buying them one after the other. They keep the time amazingly and their only "flaw" is that, crown-wise, they don't like to be handled on the rough side. Keep the crown operation smooth and don't fiddle too much with the date and these are worth for at least 8 years, more if you're not using them as a beater watch.

Very accurate but how about the other positions? That's what really determines how well a watch is regulated. I'd be interested to know if the Sistem51 can be regulated but I suppose the cases are sealed so you don't have access to the movement.
