LYRICS

In these moments of loss and torment
When the vast skies don't seem to call to you
When the weight of this world bears down
And the stars have fallen like tears

I am with you always
From The darkness of night
Until the morning
I am with you always
From life until death takes me

Monuments built in remembrance of me
But monuments fade, erode and decay
The memories are all that remain
As far as east is from the west, remember

I am with you always
From The darkness of night
Until the morning
I am with you always
From life until death takes me

When hope seems lost, down and lowly
I am here with you always

I am with you always
From The darkness of night
Until the morning
I am with you always
From life until death takes me

My older brother introduced me to metal, including Killswitch Engage. He was my best friend, my role model. This was one of his favorite songs. Yesterday, Easter Sunday 2024, one of my younger brothers (there's five of us brothers) found our oldest brother laying in the bathroom of his apartment. After not being able to get a hold of him, he went over and kicked in his door fearing the worst. He was gone. He'd been on dialysis for 4 years after discovering he had kidney disease from an autoimmune disorder. He was only 35. I'm 28 and now the oldest. I like to think this is him telling me that he's still with me. I love you and miss you so much Nathan.

My brother turned me on to this band! Seen them in concert together. He passed almost three years ago. This song means so much to me now! Love you little Costello!!

Sometimes to save a life all you need to is to be present.

I hate how people say that metal is the devil's music. There's songs like this that have a deep meaning and actually help people heal from trauma. Some people don't understand that.

Reading these comments truly shows what metal fans are about. Some of the most caring fuckers I know.

Lost my older brother to heart failure and my dad to lung cancer, life is a cruel bitch sometimes. Anyone struggling with grief, just remember you're living to honor their memory so keep making them proud ❤️

The fact that he called his brother before, that last call for help. Where are you? how fast can you be here? He didnt want to die, he just wanted the pain to end. I was the last one my brother called, 1 minute before. I was 8 hours away. I had no chance. This song makes me instantly burst into tears. It hits so close to home. I have wanted to follow my brother so many times! Today, 5-2-22, is 5 years since that last call. I miss him every day!

No one can watch this video without bursting into tears. Both the lyrics and the talent of the director and actors gets you deep. We've all had someone we've lost. This song is far more better than any of the crap in the charts

If you can't feel the music, hear the words, or see the meaning, your not alive inside.

My best friend was diagnosed with cancer two years ago and for the last two weeks he was breathing through machines.

I send love to all those who are facing cancer, whether it be the person or the family.

Lucca, you are loved by many.

I just discovered this band (better late then never, right?) and the more I hear from them the more in LOVE I am. Such an incredible music and deep meaningful lyrics it really cuts through my soul

I remember when I got diagnosed with stage 4b Hodgkins. I was really close with my family, and my parents and both brothers ( 2 year older and 2 year younger) took it hard. I was in shock, and already hurting hard after a breakup and just starting my career as a police officer; literally had the first bump in the neck 6 weeks after the academy. I heard this song while doing chemo. I had a playlist made up for my family and this song was to my brothers. Reading the comments, cancer is harder on the family then the one going through it. I would absolutely take a diagnosis again then any of my loved ones. Five years now since the diagnosis, still in remission and engaged to a beautiful and supportive woman. Never told the family about my playlist, and wondering if they will ever see this comment. Be safe everyone and stay strong.

My best friend of almost 40 years passed away today (6/2/23) from cancer. I didn't know he was sick until recently and just saw him last weekend. He just got married over a year ago and has a 6 month old son who won't get to know him. I promise to tell him how great a man his father was. Peaty scotch and fair winds, my friend.

Its funny the number of people saying they don't like the song its self.
Can you see that the song isn't designed to please or satisfy you. It's conveying a love for someone that means more to you than yourself.
The tone, the way the vocals meld. This song is great and you need to learn how to appreciate things outside your comfort zone

Probably this is one of the emotional comment section ever. I came from time to time not only to listen to the song but also to share a moment with a lot of people who has lost a loved one.
