That was not a regular “beach” in Brasil. That’s the Pantanal wetlands and it has the largest concentration of crocodiles/caimans in the world.

About the spider... That's a harmless huntsman spider.
It wasn't attacking the person it was merely trying to get out of the water.
It must have fallen in and the current took it further away from shore.
Just let the little guy climb on and bring him to shore. Nothing to worry about they are absolutely harmless.

I live in Nebraska and we also have very large water spiders like that but aren't venomous. The first time I ever encountered one was at a swimming hole we frequented in our teens. We jumped off a railroad bridge into the water, and one time after doing that, I surfaced to find one of those abominations standing on the water in front of my face. I was a slow swimmer, but I bet I broke all records that day.

Wouldn't that make a reality show eh. A briefcase with 10 million in the center of the lake, and you must retrieve it with a paddleboard, lol. Horrify, I don't know where you get these from, but man, can you ever find some doozies. I'm one of those who has arachnaphobia lol so I almost threw up my lunch, lol. Here in Canada, we unfortunately know forest fires all too well. Canadians only occupy 11% of our country, and the rest is all forested wildlife, so when those fires start, wow.
