thank you for doing this video. i get mail from Sofi every so often asking me to refinance my student loans. I never paid attention to them. After this even if I decide to refinance my loans I definitely will never use them. I'm petty too lol

They don’t have half this energy bitching when profitable multi million dollar companies get bailed out. Solidarity! As someone who in 2020 had $256, 000 (and some trifling hundreds😂) and now is down to $250, 000 (and some trifling hundreds) The pause has done more for me than the forgiveness ever will! I have saved over $36, 000 in interest that would have been tacked on to my loan, honestly I wish it could be paused forever I might have a chance to pay it off!
If you account for inflation I make less now then I did before the pandemic by a long shot. I spent nearly a year unemployed, a year under employed, and then finally making a dollar more an hour than I did prior to the pandemic. I still managed to use this time to pay off nearly 6 grand, partially for the tax write-off on the interest, partially just to see it go down instead of up for once, probably for the only time ever
I really do hope they put in place the income driven plan that Biden promised, the one that is 5% of your discretionary income due and the interest covered as long as you continue to make the required payments meaning my balance would no longer go up by $1, 000 a month🤞
Forgiveness of the $20, 000 that I qualify for would be nice too

It is disturbing to me how these rich people get upset that poor people are benefiting from a program that would lessen their debt or allow them to pay what they can without having to worry about interest sky rocketing their principals.

I used to bank with SoFi. I say "used to" because once I saw them file that lawsuit, I knew they couldn't be trusted. I was gonna refinance my student loans with them. Not anymore.
