I make a watermelon salad like this. Just cut the watermelon in cubes, mix with black olives, crumbled feta, and sliced fresh mint.

Oh this is absolutely delicious. I was making watermelon salad all summer with feta, olive oil and mint. 🤤
So good that now anytime I smell mint, I think of watermelon.

Supposedly someone once asked Abraham Lincoln how many legs a dog would have if you called its tail a leg. He replied four, just because you call a tail a leg doesn't make it one. Not everything that's flat and has stuff scattered across it is a pizza.

Nuts also work really well here. Pistachio or pine nuts. Thin slices of peppers too.

I get the salty watermelon bit, but I'd prolly use a pinch of salt because I don't think watermelon and olives texturally pair at all.

And fruit and cheese? I'm a cheesehead who believes cheese goes on everything, but fruit is the most difficult of all. Pears and brie? Check. Apples and cheddar? Check.

Watermelon and feta? Just no. Wrong textures. Goat cheese (chevre), maybe, I'll have to give it a shot.

How about this: Watermelon with bacon jam, chevre and lemon zest (please riff on this, I've been trying to come up with variations all morning).

Balsamic vinegar?
