Excellent Display, Good Battery Life, Great Build Quality and Superb Speakers make the Huawei MediaPad M5 8.4 a great buy. Biggest negative is the lack of a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Let me know what you think.

I just ordered mine M5 8" coming next week, using M2 8" so i think that will be a great upgrade, don't think im going to be disappointed. Excellent review, by far the best i found👍, No headphone jack? no problem for me, can live without it.

Enjoying this cool review from my Huawei MediaPad M3 8.4. This is already a great tablet. It lasts long, have great speakers already, etc. Only bad note is the non-stock OS... But you know, after a couple of weeks you forget about it.

Can't wait for the 10" video. Old lady here, with poor vision. So I have found that, for me, the 10" is my sweet spot, as long as the screen is on par with Samsung or the iPad. Also would prefer to have the 3.5mm head phone jack built in because I must rely on earphones in my tiny senior apartment, with a roommate! Excellent review, as always.

Thanks for the review - particularly for providing the nits brightness figure... haven't seen that anywhere else. Would have liked to see you show the screen in outdoor / sunlight conditions and hear your view as to how it compares to other tablets in this area... maybe something for the future? Thanks again! I have the M3 Lite 8", but I kinda wish I sprung for the M5 8", it was going to be a ballpark of $120 more depending on the seller. I should have taken into account the faster processor, better RAM, speakers, USB C over Micro USB and the "future proofing" of having higher specs. The only advantages were price and the inclusion of a 3.5 audio jack.

The iPad mini 5 just came out and iPad OS 13 will be out for it as well. Honestly, I like the M3 and the M5 8" form factor over the iPad Mini's. The ability to single hand the narrower Huawei M3/M8 just ups the portability factor and 16:10 aspect ratio and is better for video consumption, though the 4:3 aspect ratio of the iPads is arguably better for productivity. It kills me they haven't given the iPad mini the "Pro" treatment with the thinner bezels and better screen to tablet ratio. The mini 5 also finally has pen support though you have to use the last gen Apple Pencil and we are STILL stuck with the lightning adapter for the mini in 2019.

It will be tough choice on what will be my next "mini tablet" because the newer iPad mini 5 will have a longer life span over the M5 which is over a year old now, but the M5 despite the age is closer to what I want in a mini.

Curious to see how it works with a Bluetooth keyboard and eventually a mouse in order to make a laptop replacement. Mobility is everything these days! Looking forward to seeing a set up like that put to the test if you can of course!

Here is my take on Huawei MediaPad M5
Your review is spot on except for one thing.
_Battery life_while using _Bluetooth earphones_

I was also a bit disappointed
because while it has excellent speakers
one does not want to use it
while binge watching, right? especially at night.

So I used my Powerbeats3 Wireless Earphones
and it worked really well
However, it seems to *drain*
the battery life out of Huawei MediaPad M5--fast!!
The *98% becomes 68%* in _2 hours_
using it with Bluetooth earphones

How was your experience regards to the battery life
when using it with Bluetooth earphones for _several hours_
