When Zillow started it was just a listing service, then it morphed into a monster that tried to gobble up the entire real estate business.

It’s all a racket. Each time my grandmas SS goes up, coincidentally and surprisingly (not) her market priced senior apartment rent goes up with it

Im 60. Hard to describe my attitude of being mandated to contribute to the pensions of others when "leaders" have arranged that myself and 74% of all Americans (the private sector) are denied even one penny in pension dollars. We have the failed 401K.

Massive lithium ion battery facility on fire in Moss Landing California. The entire town is being asked to evacuate or shelter behind plastic sealed windows! All these homes are now worthless in a toxic waste dump! Do they still have to pay property taxes?

I live in Maine and all the snow has been going south of us. We like the snow around our houses - it insulates - and it’s been very cold. Gov Janet gave heating assistance to illegals and stiffed elderly and disabled. They are out of money.

Social Securi5y went up $29.00 per month and they took $15 toward the medicare increase and property tax went up $500 a year. Not to mention school tax...so what was the cost of living increase for real verses 2.5% from Social Security?

Anybody who thought SS income would be sufficient in retirement is a fool. It may supplement your savings. People did not save all their working life and now complain that SS is not enough.

I personally find this episode very interesting. I retired from law enforcement after 35+ years. Prior to my employment as a Deputy I was a Sheet Metal Journeyman and worked for 10 years in that trade. Additionally, I spent a few years i the Navy. Back, in 2000 when applying for Social Security I was told, by the Social Security Administration, that my benefits would be severely reduced because I had a retirement from law enforcement. I know others that had the same thing happen to them. We paid into the system for all those years, but either lost our benefits or had them severely reduced. It seemed grossly unfair at the time. The "Social Security Fairness Act" may remedy this We'll see.

C suites are like locusts. They only leave one company they hollowed out to go to another target company and hollow that one out.

The 2.5% COLA for 2025 provides a modest increase in benefits for Americans receiving Social Security and SSI payments, helping to offset the rising cost of living and inflation. This increase offers essential financial relief for vulnerable populations like retirees. But on the contrary, the avg. American is having a tough time, I know I am not alone. There are others in same position as me. By certain statistics: 22% of americans have no retirement savings. 64% are worried that they will not have money in latter years while 47% of adults who are not yet retired think they have to work part-time in retirement. How can I best grow the 100k I have saved seperately outside retirement access which of course had depleted over the years?
