Hello! I'm an autistic guy who was born with hip dysplasia and mild cerebral palsy. As someone who's really into the Disney parks (especially the Imagineering aspect), yeah, there has been a lot of controversy surrounding what has happened to the DAS program. It used to be really easy for people with disabilities to apply and use the system, at one point, you could've gotten it the day that you were in the park. But now they made it harder. Why? Because people have taken advantage of the disability community, whether it's by pretending to have a disability, or by hitching with someone who does. It's sickening. It's taking advantaged of the disadvantaged, it's taking advantaged of a marginalized group, it ruins the purpose of that system! And now thanks to them, the changes limit which disabilities are acceptable for the system, on top of only allowed advanced registration and removing the option to register day of, letting you register day of showed they went above and beyond for people to have a stress-free experience and make things right! So now it hurts the disadvantaged even more!

Thank You for documenting the Discrimination at Disney, plz keep us posted, definitely get a lawyer that specializes in fighting for unseen disabilities and contact your local news sources to share your story. You’re not only fighting for justice for yourself, but for all of us with unseen disabilities.

I am so confused. Is there a list of ALLOWED disabilities and disabilities that are not recognized? I would love to see that list! We were looking for a family trip. This will not be it. I am not a service dog handler (on waitlist), but this makes me so angry!!! You handled yourself so well in this situation. Thanks for setting the example to always stand up for yourself!

people need to realize that there’s no official “look” for a disabled person. This is absolutely horrific that you went through this. Sending heaps of aroha from New Zealand 💕💕

Okay, this may seem a little drastic, but I’m five minutes in and I think you guys should straight up sue. Like this is literally TEXTBOOK ableism. You could straight up die waiting in the regular line and they’re still tryna be like “well no you’re not sick enough” like HELLOO???

Thank God I haven’t purchased my tickets yet. I was literally gonna do it tomorrow but now ima go travel else where because if they can’t accommodate me, they don’t deserve my money.

Sue the crap out of Disney. If there ever is a next time, get their name and show their faces to report them. Disney will be liable if anything would've happened. It's all a power trip game to them. This worker was probably moved around so much due to causing issues. Praying for you both and your sweet service doggos.🙏👣🐾👣🐾

Me and my family went about a year ago and we got the DAS pass because I too have POTS and a service dog. The experience was mostly good, but there were a lot of moments where the employees would tell us to get in the regular line because I didn't look disabled enough to have the pass. Not that bad of an experience, but I had to sit down every chance I got cause my heart rate went up multiple different times and the constant up and down motions made me dizzy and nauseous. It wasn't okay, but that only happened two different times thank god. So sorry this happened. The DAS pass does not mean much if you "aren't sick enough, " or "don't look disabled, " but ya know, what can you do.

I can already tell by the title of the video it's going to be annoying to watch the workers if it's an access issue 😭😭

That is so ridicules! I cant believe all they could keep repeating was that their lines were service dog accessible. Like that helps any when you physically pass out for standing to long. Disney should serious be sued for this. Pots is a serious condition that should count towards DAS since you can literally pass out from just standing to long in the lines. This is so sad for Disney and someone really needs to do something about this since it is unfair to the people who cant access DAS because as you put it they aren't "sick enough" which is terrible and shouldn't even be a problem in the first place.

Absolutely crazyy because even though I don’t have a service dog it’s crazyy that they have the audacity to say that you weren’t following protocols but they aren’t following the law. Like what’s that abt…

Unfortunately, I’ve heard this several times now. I have heard of several different people who have different disabilities like narcolepsy or pot or physical disabilities getting denied. The DAS pass from Disney is really unfortunate that Disney is allowing this to happen and making people’s experiences not what they had hoped/paid for and not making it the “Disney experience”.

I had a similar issue at Disney with my service dog and the lighting lane in December. I also got denied DAS as well.

They're supposed to be accessible but only have 3 options for disablities? Thats crazy

I am glad though that they at least offered wheelchairs and stuff. Disney is not what it once was.

I have similar issues all the time too as I also got disabilities and it can also effect me standing to long so I try to take the fast lines but some people make it hard to get through them becuse my abilities aren't visible we even have proof of it but people just don't understand them sometimes .

They also tell me that I'm not ' sick enough.'

Sorry this happened to you it really sucks when people don't understand these type of stuff .

I feel for you! I don't have POTS but do have a very weak heart that causes similar issues. Unfortunately, they (Disney) don't seem to have a legit understanding of what can happen and the major law suits that could come out of it. Personally, it wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if they did get sued over things like this!

It's a training issue on Disney's part, both of you should talk to a lawyer. It might be the only way Disney will fix their problem.

So sorry this happened to you. You explain things clearly and the cast member had no valid reason why you couldn’t do what you were asking for especially since you did multiple times the same day.
