A true dilemma. Both pretty great instruments. Sterling has always come thru strong in my experience. No exceptions here. Thanks for comparison.

Short one is slightly…. But very slightly less harmonics and a whee bit rounder tone than the long scale.
But I reckon the long scale to be more versatile and polyvalent as for the slap, you need the harmonics, and also with the 3 bands EQ, you can shape your tone.
I have the Ash white grain Stingray H34 and swapped the translucide pickup guard for a black mat one which gives a fantastic dark look !
The best looking and sounding bass I’ve ever had 😍
