Dentogenic concept in complete dentures. SPA concept in complete dentures. Dynesthetic concept and it's relevance. Dentogenic concept given by Frush and Fisher (1956) is based on three elementary factors of sex, personality
and age of the patient. It provides physiologic and psychology comfort to the patient. Sex of individual influences arrangement of teeth. These arrangements are different for male and female patients. Male patients are characterised by hard, muscular and vigorous apperance whereas roundness, smoothness and softness characterizes female patients. Personality is another factor where usually soft and delicate personality is associated with females and bold, vigorous personality with male patients. Personality spectrum - delicate, medium and vigorous. Age factor also influences the selection of teeth. Darker shades for old and lighter shade selected for young patients. Cosmetic factors and artistic reflection of the dentist along with above factors (SPA) helps in achieving composition of teeth which harmonizes with the surrounding features.
