Thank you for showing different examples of what overwatering looks like.

West Australian here. Eucalyptus don't like too much water and don't particularly like or need mulch. Even a small tree like this could go weeks without water if not months. These trees develop a big tap root to find groundwater, and they will find it if you let them. Nobody here waters them at all and our climate is very similar to yours and they grow like weeds. Sandy crap soil with very little nutrients or fertility and we get to 40-45 degrees during summer with no rain for months. With no immediate competition near it, that tree will grow fast without any extra help.

If it's a smaller tree, dig up all the soil around the roots and make sure the roots aren't rotting from trapped water and moisture, or developing a fungal infection with spots on the trunk of the tree
(which will lead to fungus and fungus will contaminate your soil, for future plants, or neighboring plants too).

If it's a planted mature tree, then wait and allow the water to drain and check, for drainage with an
18' screwdriver, or long pole for a week (should go down with slight resistance up to 12' depending on root depth.)

Make sure the soil isn't saturated with water (you want the soil moist for the future and wet soil doesn't allow oxygen for the tree) and dry out the soil. NEVER have dry compacted soil (clay soil) around any plant, shrub, or tree as this will prevent oxygen from getting to the roots.
Give it about a week, or almost two weeks at the most.

Check the color of the trunk to make sure the the color is returning to normal.
You should see some improvement.
Plants and trees will fight, for their lives, like humans will.
Make sure the leafs aren't turning brown and the branches have flexibility.

Be patient and DON'T water again, until the soil is completely dry (about a week to ten days)
During the 90s it rained, for almost a week straight when was a child. My mother taught me this when we went outside to save our plants, shrubs, and trees.
Everything survived, so it isn't impossible to save your tree.
Good luck.

I have a newly planted Hong Kong Orchid who's leaves turned yellow and then dropped. Turns out that was a sign of over watering for it rather than under watering.

It varies depending on where you are growing. Some ground soil absorbs quick and some will cause you to water-log your roots if you’re not careful

The bottom line is, the fact that TOO MUCH water and TOO LITTLE water cause the same symptoms (in my case, very dry, brown leaves all falling off easily, as in - shake the tree/bush (it's growing indoors, in the ground in a bathroom near the shower, it has more than one 'trunk' so it must not be a tree)

I don't know the species/variety but one of our sprinkler heads broke wide open, and eliminated water getting to the dripline for this bush/shrub. We noticed that this indoors, very tall-growing (15 feet or more if we let it) bush/shrub took on brown crispy leaves which fell off.

We fixed the sprinkler head outside and it restored pressure to the drip line feeding the indoor bush/shrub.
We changed the water days to EVERY MORNING for 10 minutes.

Looking worse.

Whoever decided to make the symptoms of TOO LITTLE WATER look just like the symptoms of TOO MUCH WATER

*_needs to be fired or find a different line of work_*

This "should I/shouldn't I water it" tease is B.S. in the extreme.

Someone who does not like humans much was assigned the task of "shrub and bush design" and they BLEW IT

"I'll make the leaves brown, dry and fall off, both for too much, and not enough, water. These humans need some angst and I'm here to give it to them"

So, would this tree die due to wilting ? Or there's a way to save it ? It's a regular case of my garden. So, I'd be elated to see if one can save it ? And yes, plz give us a tour of your herb garden.

This looks like what I have going on with my tree. I have had it on a short 2 minute low flow water, but I forgot to turn it off through a few days of rain so it is for sure over watered right now. I'll be turning off my water timer until it starts doing better.

You loved your overwatered trees too much ...The place is looking good, it looks like you have done a lot of work on it since the end of last year.

My gul mohar is 4 years old and it rained a lot two days before and i think there was waterlogging issue. All leaves are wilted but it is growing a lot of flowering buds. Not a single leaf looks healthy and some have turned brown and falling. I have digged up some soil around the trunk but i don't know it will survive or not 😢
