Crews battle fast-moving Martindale Fire north of Santa Clarita

Firefighters were battling a brush fire that is threatening structures in the Angeles National Forest after sparking north of Santa Clarita on Sept. 28, authorities said. Sky5 was overhead. #MartindaleFire

I absolutely love the Super Scoopers! Crazy brave crews! Incredible aircraft! I love all our firefighting aircraft but the Super Scoopers seem to really get stuck in. They are like the Honey Badgers of the fleet. Mad respect for all our valiant firefighters and personnel! Be safe!

I really like how well you’re reporting this fire ... yes there are many guilty of starting these fires ... I’ve seen them n have had to report them as well .. I’m in Calistoga /Santa rosa Area n it’s a nightmare ... my fourth year .... but I really like being able to get a good idea of how and where the fires progressing ... thank you for your great work ... 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️♥️♥️♥️😩😩😩 I’m thinking that this state needs to purchase more aircraft to have in hand so aren’t so spread thin ...

We need new thinking with brush fire aerial fire fighting. We need something tat can fight the flames continuously along an entire flame front not just one water drop every few minutes in certain spots. An unmanned drone with a powerful compressor could blow the flames backward on themselves. Burning material would be blown off of bushes and back into previously burned area. Just like blowing the flame off of a candle wick but there is no wax. Burning material would be pulverized and fall to ground in already burnt ground!
