Located on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee, Capernaum was a fishing village where Simon Peter and his family lived. The Gospels record a number of miracles where Jesus healed people, including the paralyzed man lowered through a roof (Matthew 9:1-8, Mark 2:1-12, and Luke 5 :17-26), and Simon Peter's own mother-in-law (Matthew 8: 14-15, Mark 1: 29-31, Luke 4: 38-39). Jesus also healed the Roman Centurion’s servant who was ill (Luke 7:1-10). Archaeological excavations have unearthed two ancient synagogues, one of which the Gospel records as a location where Jesus preached on the Sabbath and freed a man from evil spirits (Mark 1:1-27, Luke 4: 31-36). Also, we see the tools of everyday life in Jesus' time: the flour mill, the oil press, and the wine press.

These videos are wonderfully done, truly teach and are so fascinating! It is God’s gift that you are able to share these ancient sites along with Scriptures to bring it all to life. The teacher-guide does a great job tying in daily life with the scripture. I’m also one of those who will never be able to go there myself physically in my lifetime, and your videos gift me with the next best experience. Thank you, God bless and keep you and yours.

Thank you very much for taping your tour of Israel. I have not been able to take such a tour, so I appreciate it. God Bless

I expected the guide to pander to the Americans but he did apparently make every effort to educate, so this proves to be a useful video after all. The connection that he fails to make though is with the casting of the scapegoat from the hill on Yom Kippur.
